Starting as a deskofficer,Les continued on to the Police Academy, graduating withtop honorsand receiving his class’s academic achievement award. Hethen joinedthe Tredyffrin Township Police Department in ChesterCounty where heserved as an officer and labor leader until 2009when he retired atthe rank of Detective. During his career Les wasrecognized by hisagency, as well as county, state and federalagencies, for hisoutstanding service to law enforcement, thecommunity, and hisfellow officers.In addition to his law enforcement experience, Les has servedhisFOP brothers and sisters in Pennsylvania with distinction. In1995he was elected President for Chester County Lodge #11. In 1998hewas elected to the Pennsylvania State Lodge Board asFinancialSecretary. In 2004 he was elected State Lodge VicePresident and in2008 State Lodge President, a position in which hestill serves.Les has also served as Chairman of the PennsylvaniaLaw EnforcementMemorial Foundation, as well as Chairman of the PAFOPFoundation.Les has been active in all aspects of police laborrelationissues and has been recognized as an expert in suchmatters. Forthe past 16 years, his work on legislation hasprovidedPennsylvania law enforcement officers with many neededbenefits andprotections, such as 100% survivor pensions and fullcollegetuitions for the children of officers killed in the line ofduty.Les and his legislative team continue to defend all that hasbeenlegislatively achieved in Pennsylvania over the past 100years.For the past 40 years Les has shown exceptional leadershipandteam building skills.
